Expertise

Our expertise supports a unified approach to addressing climate risk, adaptation, and resilience. Our work follows a connected workflow that spans climate hazard prediction modelling, risk assessment, and the core early-warning components of detection, monitoring, analysis, and forecasting. We provide the scientific foundation and predictive insights that underpin effective warning dissemination, while preparedness and public outreach are carried out by our partner community organizations.

Modelling for Hazard Prediction:

We advance high-resolution climate prediction through interdisciplinary modelling approaches. By integrating sub-kilometre hazard modelling, observational data, and domain knowledge, our team identifies emerging climate issues and produces fine-scale predictive insights that support informed policy and planning.

Risk Assessment through Hazard Prediction:

Building on hazard prediction, we assess exposure, vulnerability, and community-level impacts. Our approach emphasizes local context, stakeholder engagement, and co-creation of knowledge. Through this process, we develop hazard maps, risk maps, and practical, user-focused digital tools and apps. These outputs support evidence-based risk assessments and help communities, governments, and industries make climate-informed decisions.
