The HKUST My Climate Risk Regional Hub
The My Climate Risk (MCR) Hub under the WMO-World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) My Climate Risk initiative forms part of a global network of regional hubs established to advance climate risk research, assessment, and climate-informed decision-making.
MCR adopts a bottom-up approach to regional climate risk, working with institutions and universities worldwide to form a “mycorrhizal network” of hubs - communities of practice that share knowledge and resources to support locally driven activities aligned with global climate risk priorities.
Within this framework, MCR Hubs act as regional focal points, linking global research efforts with regionally relevant climate risk challenges. For Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, the regional hub supports collaboration among researchers, climate service providers, and stakeholders, contributing to the co-production of climate risk knowledge, capacity building, and the development of relevant and usable climate information for adaptation planning and resilience-building.
Hosted at HKUST, this Hub provides a platform for connecting regional expertise and local context with the broader WMO-WCRP My Climate Risk framework, supporting the translation of research into climate-resilient strategies and actions aligned with international priorities. [Learn more]
